Up, Up And Away
After eight years and nearly 350 games, the commitment of stalwart defender Callum Davies at Invicta Folkestone FC, has been recognised.
The 31-year old defender is leaving the Isthmian League Premier Division club, and Alcaline, the Kent-based haulage and distribution company and the club’s significant shareholder and shirt sponsor, marked the occasion by giving Callum a helicopter tour of London before returning him to the Alcaline Stadium.
The AS355 Eurocopter F2 5-seater helicopter is one of Alcaline’s fleet of three which provide provider charters as well as just-in-time urgent air freight if required. They offer sightseeing tours around Kent, London and South of England, making a very special gift or just an action-packed afternoon. Whether for business or pleasure it’s possible to fly from Folkestone to London in only 25 minutes.
When Callum’s flight landed he was met by Alcaline’s CEO, Mr Lorenzo Zaccheo, David Zaccheo, and Neil Shaw as well as his haul of trophies from his last season at the club. These included the Players’ Player, Supporters’ Player and Manager’s Player of the Season trophies, which he was presented with at the End of Season Awards.
Callum Davies said: “I leave the club with a heavy heart but great memories on and off the field. The flight over London and return to the ground was amazing and a massive thank you to the team at Alcaline for making it happen.”
Callum was joined on the flight across London by Alcaline’s General Manager, David Zaccheo, who wanted to mark Callum’s commitment to the club over the last eight years.
Lorenzo Zaccheo said: “Callum has always been one of the players who gave his all on the pitch for the club and we wanted to recognise that commitment.
“Over the last season under its new owners, the club has reconnected with the local community thanks to upgrades in the facilities, especially the Dugout Sports Bar which is now a destination not just on match days. We’re looking forward to a positive 2024/25 season on and off the pitch.”
