Meet graduate engineer, Aga, whose passion for avionics and aircraft modelling as a teenager led her to study a bachelor of engineering degree in Aerospace Electronic Engineering.

“I’ve found that opportunities opened up for me through trying different things – I’ve never been afraid to try something new,” said Aga.

During her course, Aga spent a year on placement at BAE Systems in Rochester. After completing her degree, she returned to the company’s Rochester site, where she is now on the graduate programme.

“I love coming to work every day,” added Aga. “My colleagues are friendly and welcoming, my job is hands-on, and no two days are the same. Plus, I get the satisfaction of knowing that the work I do enables our customers to complete their missions safely.”

For anyone considering their options, Aga has the following advice.

“Don’t be afraid to apply; whether it is a summer internship, a placement year, or a graduate scheme, because the feeling of putting all that knowledge you have gained at university into practise is very rewarding,” said Aga. “You’ll learn a lot and it will be a valuable experience that can guide you in your future career path.”
