Kent Business Leaders Dinner

At a time of much uncertainty for business, there is more value than ever in local business leaders coming together to support each other and to exchange ideas and opportunities. With this in mind, we stage the Kent Business Leaders Dinner series.

We are staging our first Kent Business Leaders Dinner of the year on Thursday 2nd March at Bradbourne House, East Malling.

We are delighted that Roger Gough, Leader of Kent County Council will be speaking after dinner about the key policies and strategic goals that the Council has to support the economic growth of the county.

A drinks reception will be served from 5:30pm followed by a sumptuous dinner.

Tickets are fully inclusive of arrival drink, 3 course dinner, coffee and all wine, beer and soft drinks.*

This event enables like-minded business leaders to gather in an informal and relaxed environment. We encourage all our guests to talk freely and to exchange opinions and ideas in a confidential and supportive environment. As a result, we ask guests to respect that this event is held under ‘Chatham House’ rules, hence no media representatives will be present.

• Ham Hock and Pea Terrine with Deconstructed Piccalilli
• Wild Garlic and Mushroom Soup with Puff Pastry Straw-Goats Curd (V)
• Beetroot Cured Salmon with Kentish Gin Compressed Cucumber

MAIN COURSE

• Seared Lamb Neck Fillet with Mashed Potatoes, Broad Bean and Pea Fricassee
• Stuffed Aubergine and Black Quinoa Tabbouleh with Romesco Sauce, Toasted Sesame and Coriander (V)
• Roasted Herb Crusted Cod Fillet with Crushed Citrus Potatoes, Steamed Green Beans and Beurre Blanc Sauce

DESSERT

• Lemon Posset with Raspberry Salsa and Shortbread
• Dark Chocolate Cremeux and Mango Sorbet with Coconut, Chilli, and Lime- Chocolate Tuille
• Kentish Cheese Board, a selection of speciality crackers and chutneys

GUEST SPEAKER
Roger Gough, Leader of Kent County Council.

Roger Gough became Leader of Kent County Council in October 2019. Roger has served as the Member for Darent Valley – now Sevenoaks North and Darent Valley – since 2005 and previously held the Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education as well as other Cabinet roles since 2006.

Roger sits on the Local Government Association’s Children and Young People Board and Chairs the South East Strategic Partnership for Migration board. Roger also has a strong record of national politics through work for think tanks such as the Policy Exchange and Localis.

Before entering local government, Roger worked in investment banking for sixteen years, including living and working in Japan for three years. He has written widely on policy issues and is the author of two books.
