The Insight House is a small consultancy of experienced marketing professionals.

For example:
There are 20 people on a train carriage. They’re all travelling to Hull.

They all behaved the same way in many respects: getting on the same train at the same time, in the same carriage, going to the same place, but other aspects of their behaviour vary.

If you look at all of their shoes, they are different – but you can start to group them, into work shoes, dressy shoes, don’t care shoes.
So on the face of it, all of the people in the carriage appear to have identical needs, but when you look closer, you find that you can segment them, which in turn allows you to give them a tailored customer journey that is relevant to them – much more effective than a generic approach.
